Bonding and Veneers
Bonding can be used to fix a misshapen tooth, fill gaps between teeth, and treat other dental issues using a tooth-colored composite resin. It can also be used to replace old, worn out silver amalgam fillings for a natural, metal-free smile.
Veneers are thin porcelain or composite resin shells that are bonded to your teeth to give a natural-looking fit. Veneers can cover crooked teeth, gaps, teeth that are too short, cracked, or chipped. They can also improve the appearance of stained or discolored teeth and are an excellent alternative if you have teeth that don't respond well to whitening treatments. Porcelain veneers are a bigger initial investment but offer longer-lasting results.
Crowns and Bridges
A crown is a cap that fits over your natural tooth, providing strength and support to teeth that are cracked or chipped, or after a root canal to protect the tooth from breaking. They can also be used to change the appearance of your tooth if you have a tooth that is twisted, uneven, deeply stained, or too small. We use beautiful, metal-free porcelain crowns for the best balance of strength and esthetics.

Bridge restorations use healthy teeth on either side of the missing tooth to anchor supporting crowns, usually with the restoration of the missing tooth between them.

Dental implants consist of a titanium implant embedded into your jaw bone and allowed to fuse with the bone, giving a very stable and secure foundation to attach a crown, bridge, or even special connectors for full dentures.

If you have already been told you need a dental treatment but you have doubts, Los Alamitos dentist Dr. Edward Luong will be happy to provide a second opinion. We do charge a fee for consultations and second opinions, but if you choose to begin treatment with our office, we will happily apply this fee towards treatment.
We take your dental care seriously, and we want you to know you're making the best choice for you and your smile. We don't want you to go through a lengthy and perhaps costly procedure only to find it was unnecessary or that there was a better alternative available.
During your consultation or second opinion, Dr. Luong will perform an examination and discuss your treatment options. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and find out if there are alternative treatments available that may work for you. If x-rays are needed, we can take digital x-rays and explain what treatment we would recommend and why.
At our Los Alamitos dental office, we consider our patients a part of our family, and we will never recommend an unnecessary treatment. Edward Luong DMD
Dr. Edward Luong grew up in southern California in Westminster until his family moved to Riverside in 1987, where he attended high school and did his undergraduate work. Dr. Luong received a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of California Riverside in 2000. He went on to Tufts University to complete his Doctorate in Medical Dentistry, graduating with his DMD in 2005.
